PSYC 2100: Introduction to Social Psychology


In-Person - Winter 2027


Do you like to people watch? Do you think about what influences your personal relationships? Then this course may be right for you! In this course, we’re going to explore different facets of the social world. We’ll look at social thinking (e.g., beliefs and judgments), social influence (e.g., conformity), and social relations (e.g., altruism, prejudice). Additionally, you will learn the methods that social psychologists use to study these concepts throughout the course. 

This second-year course is designed to explore many of the topics within Social Psychology and provide you a solid foundation for upper-year courses, as well as get you thinking about potential research interests, thesis ideas, projects and/or career paths in this area. Overall, this course offers tools for understanding the social forces that shape behavior, which may help you better understand yourself and others.
